Anda Mission Trip

Anda Mission Trip

Last July 17-18, a group of two doctors, three nurses, and six missionary-wannabes went to Anda, Pangasinan for a Medical Mission Trip. We left Manila at midnight and arrived at dawn in the island. The weather was just right for the adventure, a little rain, a little mud and a lot of laughters in between the trek  and the experience of wearing real boots.

The oldies felt like they were pussycat dolls, some looked like Lito Lapid and I looked like spongebob squarepants.

The townspeople were very nice and shy. The kids were behave, but brave enough to fall in line and see a doctor. One kid went to the phramacy and was buying medicine because the doctor didn’t give her free meds and she was jealous to the other kids who got free meds.

We had 140+ patients. Praise God for strength for the medical team. Praise God for the provision of free medicines. Praise God for Christ’s compassion and love imparted to the hearts of the mission team.

Praise the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness to His people and this church!

For this trip, the Lord showed me His immeasurable love. It extends even to the farthest islands. He loves these people. The Old, the Young, the Mothers, the Fathers and of course, the precious Children. He loves them. Very much.

I was able to meet with the young ladies of the church. We spent the afternoon in a nipahut just beside the beach. They were very hungry and like a sponge they listened and delighted to the Word that was shared. We even had a morning devotion the next day. I could still remember their faces and how the LOrd showed me that each of them is special and was chosen to be His.

Praise God because the Lord didn’t only bring physical healing to this church but also gave them the Holy Spirit as the young people were baptized during the worship night. Thank God the Lord moved that night even with lack of instruments (and instrumentalist). He came for the hearts hungry for His presence. :)

Of course, in every mission trip, one of the most memorable part is the (drum roll please) food. :)

We’re so blessed. Seafood stuffing for two days. Shrimps, crabs and my favorite fishes. Yumyum. They also have this special suman and pickled bamboo. (But I missed Silaki’s sea urchin :) ).

We planned to go to the white beach and hundred islands but the weather was bad and the boat wasn’t cooperating. So  I guess we’ll be back for that. :)

(I edited the post for a more detailed kwento since I had system downtime. Hehe)
